The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued multiple recalls last week, including notices for over 375,000 Tesla Model 3 and Model Y vehicles.

Tesla recalls Model 3 and Model Y cars for power steering issue
Tesla recalled certain 2023 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles that are operating software prior to 2023.38.4.
The electronic power steering assist may experience an overstress condition, causing a loss of power steering assist when the vehicle reaches a stop and then accelerates again − according to the NHTSA.
The company has implemented an over-the-air software update for the recall and said in a recall report that 99% of affected vehicles in the U.S. have installed the update as of January 23, 2025.

Ford Explorers and Lincoln Aviators recalled for loose seat belts and buckles
Ford Motor Company recalled some 2020-2021 Ford Explorer and Lincoln Aviator vehicles for multiple seat belt issues.
The vehicles have seat belt buckle anchor bolts that may be improperly secured as well as seat belt and seat belt retractors anchor bolts at the second-row center seating position that may be improperly secured.
Seatbelts and buckles that have improperly secured bolts may not be able to restrain passengers in a crash, according to the recall report. Drivers may notice a squeak or a rattle in seatbelts with the improperly secured bolts.
Dealers are to inspect the seatbelts and replace affected components free of charge. Notification letters are to be sent March 31.

Toyota recalls Sienna Hybrids over third-row seatbacks
Toyota recalled certain 2021-2025 Sienna Hybrid vehicles that may have a third-row seatback with improperly tightened seat assembly bolts.
The improperly tightened bolts may cause an increased risk of injury in a crash to those sitting in the third row of affected vehicles, according to the recall report.
Dealers are to tighten the seat assembly bolts, free of charge and owner notification letters are to be sent March 31.

Volkswagen recalls VW and Audi cars for rearview camera error
Volkswagen Group of America recalled certain 2022-2024 Volkswagen Tiguan, 2023 Volkswagen Arteon, and 2024-2025 Audi Q3 vehicles as a software error may cause the rearview camera to fail to start.
The error, if present, occurs in the camera control unit when the vehicle is started, according to the recall report.
Dealers are to update the camera control unit software free of charge and owner notification letters are to be sent April 11.

Maserati recall issued over rearview camera
Maserati recalled certain vehicles that may have radio software that prevents the rearview camera from displaying.

Rivian recalls vehicles due to potential headlight failure
Rivian recalled certain 2025 R1S and R1T vehicles that have low beam headlights that may fail to illuminate when starting the vehicle in cold weather.
Affected cars will display a message “Low beam lights not working. Service low beams soon” on the driver display when started in cold weather, according to the recall report.
Rivian is to replace the headlight control modules free of charge and notification letters are to be sent March 28.
