iCarly fans could get answers to some of their biggest questions — including a resolution to that cliffhanger from the series finale.

Miranda Cosgrove was asked about a possible iCarly project during a recent appearance on The Talk, to which she replied, “So, I’m not allowed to 100 percent confirm anything yet, but I think the fans of the show are going to be super excited because we have something in the works.”

Host Natalie Morales asked whether this meant “bringing back old favorites” onscreen. “Yes. And we actually ended the revival on a cliffhanger, and we’re going to wrap that up,” Cosgrove, 31, teased.

Cosgrove has previously hinted at plans for iCarly to wrap up the story, telling Variety in July, “I’m pretty sure it’s gonna happen.”

iCarly originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2007 to 2012 and helped skyrocket Cosgrove, Nathan Kress, Jennette McCurdy and Jerry Trainor to fame. The series focused on a teenager named Carly (Cosgrove) who created and hosted her own web show with help from her best friends.

Following iCarly‘s major success, two spinoffs were created. Sam & Cat aired from 2013 to 2014 and followed McCurdy’s character, Sam, in a crossover project alongside Cat from Victorious, played by Ariana Grande. The second series featured Noah Munck‘s character, Gibby, in a self-titled sitcom that showed him working at a recreation center as a mentor to middle school students. A pilot was filmed but never aired, and the series was never picked up.

Paramount+ revived iCarly in 2021 and picked up nearly a decade after the events of the original series. This version reunited Carly with Freddie and introduced new characters including her roommate, Harper (Laci Mosley). The show was canceled three months after season 3 ended with Carly’s mother — who had never been seen on the series — making an off-camera appearance.

Over the years, former Nickelodeon stars have opened up about their journey as child actors at the network — and not everyone had the same experience. Jennette McCurdy shocked her fans when she revealed that she wasn’t thrilled about her time on iCarly. “I did the shows that I was on from like 13 to […]

“iCarly will not be returning for a fourth season on Paramount+. The series had a great three-season run and delivered on what fans really wanted to see with Carly and Freddie finally getting together,” a spokesperson for Paramount+ told Us Weekly in October 2023. “We want to thank the entire cast, the writers, directors and producers along with the whole crew for their dedication, creativity and talent.”

Kress, 31, addressed the abrupt cancellation in a statement about not giving up hope for the future of the show.

“Freddie is forever in my heart, and I’m honored that I was able to put that mantle back on, even for just a few more years,” Kress wrote via X in October 2023. “Obviously this stings a bit. … We had a lot of story left to tell, and we were excited to give you guys the ending you deserved. No one wanted this to end on a cliffhanger. Maybe somehow, someday, we’ll find out how [the] story ends.”
