Harris Maxus UK overhauls leadership, launches vision for LCV market

Commercial vehicle distributor Harris Maxus UK has unveiled strategic plans as part of its ambition to lead in the rapidly expanding fleet electric vehicle (EV) sector.

Key appointments have been made to strengthen Maxus UK’s leadership team including Andrew Lawson as managing director, leveraging over 25 years of experience, including senior positions at Mercedes-Benz UK and the US; Michael Ward as aftersales director, bringing expertise from Mercedes-Benz Vans and TekCor 4; Brian Anderson as head of service quality, contributing 30 years of technical and service quality experience with Mercedes-Benz UK and Daimler Trucks.

Katie Crawford takes on the role of head of network development, while Zoe Tonks, with over a decade as head of group corporate sales at Marshall Motor Group, becomes head of UK corporate sales. Kimberley Horsman is appointed head of marketing, enhancing the brand’s in-house marketing capabilities with her decade of experience within dealer networks.

These appointments will support the existing team, including Bill Laidlaw and Frank Turner, who have been instrumental in Maxus UK’s growth since 2020.

Maxus  said it would take an active approach to meeting the challenges of the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandates, outperforming competitors in balancing its EV and internal combustion engine (ICE) mix by adopting a consistent, long-term approach, supported by partnerships and white-label solutions to help businesses navigate the industry’s transition.

In 2025, Maxus UK said it plans to launch initiatives that will transform vehicle operations and customer experiences and become the most attractive franchise choice for UK businesses.

Andrew Lawson, managing director of Harris Maxus UK, expressing his excitement about the potential of the brand, said: “The enthusiasm and skillset of the people joining us are truly remarkable, and I am thrilled about the future of Maxus.”
