DWF Labs has severed ties with a partner accused of drugging a job applicant during a meeting in Hong Kong on October 24.
The alleged victim, who identified herself as “Hana” on social media, reported that the partner attempted to coerce her into his hotel suite after allegedly spiking her drink.
According to Hana’s posts on X, the incident occurred during a job-related meeting at a bar. While she was in the restroom, a bar employee allegedly saw the partner putting something into her drink.
Hana said she attempted to swap drinks but was reportedly prevented from doing so. Feeling dizzy after leaving the bar, she claimed the partner pressured her to go to his hotel, saying, “I have a suite at the Murray (hotel).”
Hana reported the incident to local police and shared video evidence online that she claimed shows the man spiking her drink. She also shared images of the incident report and CCTV footage.
DWF Labs’ response
DWF Labs addressed the allegations on Oct. 29, announcing that it had removed the accused partner from management roles while the investigation is ongoing and it is cooperating with authorities as the investigation unfolds.
“DWF Labs is aware of the recent and deeply concerning allegations involving one of our partners, who has been accused of inappropriate and unacceptable behaviour. While the matter is under investigation, DWF Labs has decided to dismiss the said partner from management and operational roles effective immediately.”
DWF Labs said in a statement.
Although the firm did not name the individual, Eugene Ng, a founding partner, was removed from the company’s team page and appears to have deleted his social media accounts following the accusations, according to an X post.
