California Gov. Gavin Newsom Thinks Gun Marketing to Kids Is Insane but Porn for Kids Is Just Hunky Dory

In response to the most recent ruling from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals against California Attorney General Rob Bonta regarding the marketing of firearms to minors, Governor Gavin Newsom issued a laughable and hypocritical statement, calling the decision in part, “pure insanity.”

The ruling was in response to a lawsuit filed by several gun-rights groups on behalf of Junior Sports Magazines, Inc. against California’s law that prohibited any marketing or advertisements of a firearm or any part of a firearm that is designed, intended, or reasonably appears to be attractive to minors. The Court’s ruling stated that “the First Amendment demands more than good intentions and wishful thinking to warrant the government‘s muzzling of speech.”

Governor Newsom and Attorney General Bonta both agree that children should be nowhere near guns, their parts, or heaven forbid, their manuals. This is a classic sign of “hoplophobia.” Newsom and the rest of the gun control supporting Democratic Party all suffer from this, which is a simple fear of anything gun-related.

Hoplophobia is characterized by an irrational fear of guns. This condition can cause a wide range of symptoms, including panic attacks, chest pain, rapid heart rate, and dizziness. People with hoplophobia often avoid situations where they may come into contact with firearms.

For a person and party that claims to be supportive of gun safety, it really makes no sense that the state would make such a big deal over this. The law makes it illegal for anyone to market guns or anything gun-related to kids. That means I can’t advertise a gun that was designed for kids to make shooting safer and enjoyable for them, as the picture showed in Newsom’s tweet. This is completely irrational, not to mention hypocritical. What this law was designed to stop was the classic scenario of a parent wanting to get their kids into shooting and to be able to get them something that fits their size. A big part of that is parental involvement and supervision; that part is critically important to remember.

Why is it hypocritical, you ask? Well, Newsom and Democrats across the country, but specifically here in California, are hell-bent on shoving the LGBT agenda down not just your throats but your kids’ throats. And they are shoving it down the kids’ throats without your approval or supervision.

Our children are being exposed to a radical agenda that has no place in our schools. In California, for example, the state legislature is passing bills at a scary pace that either strip away parental rights, allow schools to take kids to see someone to begin, or learn more about transitioning, all without the parent’s knowledge. Teachers and students are being forced in some schools to refer to trans staff or students by their preferred pronouns or face discipline. The transgender virus is not only attacking our kids, it’s attacking our basic human rights guaranteed in our Constitution and Bill of Rights. The government cannot and shall not make any law or policy to abridge or eliminate one’s 1st Amendment right to free speech. Nobody should be forced to be complicit in someone’s personal lie.

Books like the one titled “Gender Queer” have several pages of explicit sexual content that are both illustrated and described in detail. Newsom thinks that it is not only perfectly fine for kids — but also critically important — to let them read it without parental consent, knowledge, or supervision. They continue to gaslight parents who don’t want their children exposed to pornographic material, painting them as the problem or not looking out for their kids’ best interests.

The left continues to insist that school districts are not pushing inappropriate material in their classrooms and libraries. But it seems that every week, new stories crop up proving that this contention is a lie. As with Critical Race Theory (CRT), progressives seem to be relying on a “see no evil hear no evil” strategy while pretending concerned parents are just trying to ban books. But it does not seem like they are fooling anyone except those who want to be fooled.

The fact that school districts would completely disregard valid concerns expressed by parents is unconscionable. However, this does not mean they will get their way in the end; we have already seen parents mobilizing to hold their educational institutions accountable when they pushed back against problematic teachings about racism in the classroom.

The point here is that Newsom fears guns and wants them away from kids — even with parental involvement — but in the same breath, he says kids should have access to porn without parental involvement. How in the world does that make any sense? It doesn’t add up to me personally. Any rational adult would demand parental involvement with their kids and guns. It makes perfect sense to then allow the marketing of kid-friendly guns and gun parts. Even when a kid sees that, what harm is being committed? Are they forever scarred by an image of a gun? This points directly back to their ailment of hoplophobia, and their irrational and misguided fear of guns. Not too long ago, we had gun safety and training classes in our schools. There wasn’t any harm done then, and no kids went ballistic and shot up their schools. So obviously, it isn’t the gun that’s the problem; it’s something else.

Time to take a Xanax, Governor Newsom, and try to relax. Everything will be just fine with my children learning how to properly use a firearm.
