Raise your glasses! Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo’s tequila brand, Calirosa Tequila, has been acquired by Amass Brands Group, a leading company in the alcohol world.
The Maroon 5 frontman and the Victoria’s Secret model first partnered with the Real Family, which has been producing tequila since 1942, in 2021 to craft Calirosa. The brand said the handcrafted tequilas with distinct flavor profiles are known to embody Mexico’s heritage and beauty with its rich ingredients and drinking the booze is described as experiencing the “true taste of Mexico.”
The final step in their creation is a unique barrel aging process. “Our tequila is aged in our prized red wine barrels. Our barrels are sourced from some of the most esteemed wineries California has to offer, resulting in Calirosa’s signature glow,” according to their website.
Using the wine barrels, rather than the traditional whiskey containers, gives the rosa tequila the recognizable pinkish hue.
“We are proud of what Calirosa has achieved thus far, and we believe that joining forces with Amass Brands Group will enable us to unlock even greater opportunities for our brand,” Levine and Prinsloo, who have been married for 10 years and share three children, said in a statement. “Together, we look forward to continuing our journey of crafting superior tequilas and sharing them with the world.”
Amass Brands Group’s other brands also include Amass Botanics, Gem & Bolt Mezcal, Good Twin, Summer Water, Natural Merchants, ABG Wines and Baby Vodka as well as a partnership with Katy Perry’s De Soi.
“We are thrilled to welcome Calirosa Tequila into the Amass Brands Group family,” Mark Lynn, CEO of Amass Brands Group, wrote in a statement. “Calirosa’s dedication to crafting outstanding tequilas perfectly complements our existing portfolio, and we are excited to leverage our combined expertise to further elevate the brand and bring its top-tier products to even more consumers around the world.”
When Levine, 45, and Prinsloo, 36, first partnered with the Real Family to create Calirosa, the “Payphone” singer took to social media to share the exciting news.
“Calirosa Tequila is more than a partnership,” Levine wrote via Instagram at the time. “It’s a bridge between two families in the hopes of bringing something truly special into the marketplace to be enjoyed for generations to come. Salud!!!!!!!” Prinsloo commented: “Here we gooooooo!!!! I’m so excited.”
