Aaron Rodgers is not only a well-known NFL star — he’s a celebrity known for his A-list relationships.
Us Weekly confirmed in February 2021 that the athlete was dating actress Shailene Woodley shortly before the quarterback revealed they were engaged. Rodgers shared the news during the NFL Honors awards, where he took home the 2020 AP Most Valuable Player award during the televised celebration.
“2020 was definitely a crazy year filled with lots of change, growth, some amazing, memorable moments, 180 straight days of having my nose hair scraped, playing for very little fans or no stands the entire season,” Rodgers said during his speech. “I got engaged and I played some of the best football in my career. So I’d like to thank, first and foremost, my teammates for their support, their inspiration, protection, incredible play on the field. … Off the field I’ve got a great group of people that support me, so I’d like to thank my team.”
Rodgers listed several people in his circle before giving a special shout-out to “my fiancée.”
The pair’s romance was short-lived, however, and Us confirmed one year later that they’d split.
“Shailene has been super busy with work,” an insider told Us exclusively in February 2022, noting that Rodgers is always “focused” on football. “Everything was so different during lockdown, and they had been living in their bubble. Friends of Shailene didn’t believe Aaron is the best match for her.”
Prior to Woodley, Rodgers dated Danica Patrick for more than two years before their July 2020 breakup. He’s also been linked to Olivia Munn, Jessica Szohr and Kelly Rohrbach over the years.
In Rodgers’ 2024 Netflix docuseries, Aaron Rodgers: Enigma, the football player looked back on his numerous high-profile romances.
“I didn’t do myself any favors with some of the girls I dated after that who were in the public eye,” he said. “I definitely hated it at first. I really despised it. I enjoyed my private life. I enjoyed being able to go places.”
