The government’s Crown Commercial Service (CCS) has confirmed a procurement timeline for its £80bn Construction Works and Associated Services 3 framework.
A pipeline notice published yesterday (14 May) set out plans for the eight-year framework, which will run from July 2026 to July 2034.
CCS said the framework will cover a broad range of construction works and associated services across the UK.
Its estimated value is £80bn excluding VAT.
The framework is expected to be established formally following the publication of a tender notice in January 2026. It will be structured to allow central and local government clients to procure works for general construction.
The notice was issued under the Procurement Act 2023.
Further details of the framework’s lots, evaluation criteria and procurement strategy have not yet been disclosed.
The Construction Works and Associated Services frameworks cover public-sector works across transport, energy, health and education.
Its existing iteration began in October 2019 and lasts until October next year, covering major and minor building and civil engineering projects.
A total of 111 suppliers were selected across 38 lots.
Major tier one contractors Balfour Beatty, Kier, Laing O’Rourke, Mace, and Morgan Sindall are among the participants.
The pipeline notice did not mention whether the next planned iteration of the framework will cover the same scope of works.
