Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz’s relationship came to an end as a result of navigating their busy lives and family, a source exclusively explains to Us Weekly.

“Travel and work were becoming an issue,” the insider tells Us. “They [had] been starting to drift apart and realized they didn’t want the same things.”

Kravitz, 35, revealed in August she wasn’t sure about having children, telling Esquire, “For a long time, I felt like there was something wrong with me. I was waiting for this light to go off in my head, and it never did. … There’s a lot of pressure on women to have children, and there’s a feeling that if you don’t, you don’t have purpose here.”

The source says that for Tatum, 11-year-old daughter Everly, whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan, and his family “[are] a priority.”

News broke earlier this week that Tatum, 44, and Kravitz, 35, split after three years together and called off their engagement.

The two actors initially met in 2021 while filming Kravitz’s directorial debut, Blink Twice, which was released in August. After two years of dating, Tatum proposed. Both Tatum and Kravitz had kept their relationship relatively low-key.

“You want to keep it sacred and private as long as you can. So that you don’t have to even think about what the world thinks about it,” Kravitz told GQ in a November 2022 profile “[Channing is] just a wonderful human. He makes me laugh and we both really love art and talking about art and the exploration of why we do what we do. We love to watch a film and break it down and talk about it and challenge each other.”

The pair opened up a bit more during Blink Twice’s promotional blitz last summer, repeatedly singing each other’s praises.

“This little sweet. She so tired bro. Every time I wondered if she’d break…. She just kept going and going and going,” Tatum wrote via Instagram on September 3. “Always on the dig for truth. She poured every single ounce of her into this film.”

He added, “I’m so proud to stand ten toes down for her, this film and everyone in it. forever. Knowing what it took to make it. No one will ever know. Thank you for finding me and seeing me. I got you forever. Me and you back to back against it all. I’ll never blink. Let’s go.”

While neither Tatum nor Kravitz have publicly addressed their split, they were both recently cast in brothers Ethan and David Zellner’s upcoming alien action flick Alpha Gang alongside Cate Blanchett, Riley Keough, Dave Bautista and Steven Yeun.

“They thrive while being on set together and will be able to get through it,” a second source close to Tatum told Us in late October. “Both of them are very professional and there is no bad blood between them. Film is their passion, so it could bring them back together.”
